PBSP Body Exercises Modular Training

PBSP Body & Spatial Sensitization Exercises can be used as diagnostic tools and treatment techniques.  The exercises designed to be used for diagnostic purposes help clients to surface and identify more powerful and accurate emotional truths than mere verbal speculation can produce.  The exercises designed as treatment techniques help clients gain consciousness of the sources of emotionally disturbing states and impulses that register in their bodies. What clients report in therapy sessions about their emotional and psychological states of mind is usually a confabulation having little to do with the true source of their feelings.

PBSP Body & Spatial Sensitization Exercises provide therapists with ways to help clients get in touch with and discover the triggers of emotional states that have registered in the body somatically.  Participants will learn techniques to discover and interpret emotional information coming from the body and exercises to offer clients that utilize the body as a way to master and control those disturbing emotional reactions.

Three Movement Modalities: How The Emotions Inside Come Out Motorically. Participants will learn the theory and exercises for the three PBSP Movement Modalities: Reflexive, Voluntary, and Emotional. Sensations in the body are frozen emotions. These exercises are designed to promote the surfacing of the emotional experiences and expressions that have been buried in the somatic reactions. There will be opportunities to practice moving in each modality and reflect on the emotions that arise unexpectedly. In addition, participants will learn how to work with clients using the three modalities and how to glean information from these exercises about emotional states that are unconscious.

Spatial Sensitization Exercises: How The Spatial Actions Of Others Outside Come Inside As Emotions.  Participants will learn several exercises that help clients learn more about their emotional history based on their reactions to other people or objects in the room placed in varying locations and orientations. These exercises can be used to help clients awaken an awareness of the emotional and historical foundations of their reactions and allow them to get in touch with information that is not easily available on a purely verbal level.  The increased level of awareness of emotions and memories that are unconsciously evoked through the location and motion of other people and objects in their visual and spatial fields also helps clients experience more mastery and control of their reactions.

Voluntary Patterns  In The Service Of Interest And Curiosity Technique.   Participants will learn a technique for utilizing clients’ interest in an object in the room as a means for surfacing emotional information that would otherwise not be available. This technique is especially useful with clients who say they don’t have any thoughts about their emotional state or feelings. With this technique, which functions akin to a spatial Rorschach test, therapists can help clients to become aware of their projections and emotional reactions associated with their choice of object.
